Welcome to Lough Allen Adventure
If you stand by the shore at our outdoor adventure centre, the clear waters of Lough Allen stretch ahead of you, before your eyes rise to the historic Arigna mountain, a National Heritage Area.
Turn around and you’re protected by the majestic Sliabh an Iarainn to your back. This “mountain of iron” was the arrival place of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Ireland’s mythological warrior race and iron ore from the mountain is said to have been used in the construction of Dublin’s Ha’penny bridge.
Look to your left and you’ll see the journey our kayakers, paddleboarders and canoeists take to glide along the iconic Drumshamazon on the Shannon Blueway.
Look to your right and you’ll appreciate the lake waters that take our water wayfarers to their relaxed wilderness experience at O’Connor’s Island.
That’s before you might enjoy a coffee at our Wild Way Café or take a stroll through picturesque Drumshanbo.
Welcome to Lough Allen Adventure Centre, where the Hidden Heartlands meets the Wild Atlantic Way.
