Triathlon & cycling training camps

Looking for an ideal location to train for your triathlon is tough.

You need somewhere you can work hard, testing your strength and endurance on all your disciplines. You need somewhere you can easily rest after a tough day and if you’re training with fellow-triathletes, you need somewhere to stay that doesn’t cost more than your entire gear combined!

Welcome to Lough Allen Adventure Centre.

It’s run by water sports and outdoor adventure experts – Tojo Lazzari and Edwin Gray. Tojo is a former para-athlete and Edwin is a Wim Hof instructor and wilderness expert. You can read more about their story here.

It Lough Allen Adventure Centre, you can…

Swim in Lough Allen, just 100m from your accommodation. Noted for the high-quality EPA-assured water, you can build strength and endurance in the waters of the lake. If you’re training as part of a group, we can provide a rescue boat to ensure the safety of your swim session.

Train on the iconic Shannon-Erne Blueway where the flat water-side paths are ideal for speed work or simply running safely as a group.

You can put in some hill work on the roads climbing to Arigna or take a break from the tarmac and take on the trail-running challenge of Sliabh an Iarainn, “the Iron Mountain”. The Tuatha dé Danann, the supernatural warrior tribe of ancient Irish mythology, arrived in Ireland at the summit of the Mountain of Iron. Or so they say!

Stretch your cycling distance on the numerous quiet country roads around Drumshanbo and the wider area.

Execute your training on your own or as a group.

Train with one of our qualified and experienced strength and conditioning coaches who can tailor a program to your own specific needs.

Run, cycle and swim your way through a specialist training camp that we’ll develop to suit your requirements.

When you’re tired of training, enjoy some slow adventure to relax and unwind!

Take a Wim Hof Method and wilderness therapy course and learn how to focus, de-stress and take your mental awareness and resilience to a whole new level!

Relax on the water and paddle the iconic Drumshamazon or take a trip on the lake to O’Connor’s Island with one of our signature kayaking and paddleboarding tours.

You can spend a few hours learning survival and bushcraft skills.

For a little high-energy downtime, try our Power Boat training course which is a popular addition to our athlete training camps.

Enjoy one of Drumshanbo’s atmospheric pubs where you can claim your bragging rights over a pint, swap tips and strategies or just eat some great food!

The Adventure Centre offers short-stay guest accommodation with panoramic views of Lough Allen and the Iron Mountain from the centre. We’ve a full self-catering kitchen and dining area.

If you prefer, we’ve space for up to 20 campers / caravans (with electric hook-up) and ample space for camping lakeside.
